Dodge comparison

Is dodging worth the damage it costs me?

A dodge takes 75% off the hit but costs the 500 ms animation plus a 200 ms reaction window, so it trades damage for lives. Whether that trade pays depends on the attacker, which is why the table gives each counter its own verdict rather than one rule for the whole lobby.

Against Mewtwo: never dodge

Averaged over 18 counters, never dodge finishes in 10:23 with 5.9 faints per raid timer, against 13:43 and 4.3 faints for dodge charged moves. Dodging costs more damage than the lives it saves are worth here — tap through and let them faint. Not one counter in the pool does better dodging, which is unusually clear-cut.

How this is worked out

The pool is Mewtwo's top 18 counters ranked with dodging off, then each one is re-simulated with dodge: "none" | "charged" | "all" through the shipped raid simulator — the dodge is a real event on the battle clock, with the 500 ms animation, the 200 ms reaction delay and the 75% reduction all taken from the Game Master's battle settings. Faints are counted inside one raid timer, the like-for-like figure with pokebattler.com's effectiveDeaths. One caveat worth stating: the simulator dodges perfectly, and a human does not, so treat "dodge everything" as an upper bound on what dodging can buy you. The counters page has the same control if you want the full ranked list under one strategy.
